In Cape Breton, where I come from, and also in places like Ireland, and Scotland, ALOT goes on in that little kitchen beside makin’ dinner (which, by the way, is served at lunchtime). Friends and family members gather in these little kitchen, sometimes with their instruments as well, sometimes dancin on the kitchen floor, and usually ‘havin’ a cup of tea’! Yes, alot of music is played and sung in that little kitchen, and our Christmas in the Kitchen is no different! Our ‘actual’ kitchen table from our kitchen, gets loaded up and carried off to adorn the Sheldon stage. I bring along the cape breton tea, and cookies, and away we go!

Audience members are encouraged to come up throughout the performance, and sit for a spell, and taste the delicious cape breton tea, have a cookie, and tap your toe for a song or two, and then let someone else sit for a spell. This show is VERY kid friendly, and we encourage you to bring yours, or your grandchildren, or neighbors. We always have a special guest or two, with one of our honored guests being Santa Claus himself!

We will have a visit from our ‘Scottish Santa’, (I’ll bet you never knew Santa played the bagpipes) who comes ‘to pick up’ the toys to be delivered to underpriveleged children on Christmas morning. You will see the ‘tower of food’ in the lobby, so leave your canned goods there. This is a super-fun event and is sure to put you and yours right in the Christmas spirit!!
